2000-09-01 - 6:59p.m. (So a little bit of back story: Since Mayish, I've lost about 13 pounds. Ergo, I have gone from one dress size [x+1] to another [x]. This made me very excited and I went out and bought a lot of clothes in size x.) So today the sis and the baby and I went to a mall about 45 minutes from where the sis lives. We wandered around and ended up in Old Navy, where right in front they had some very nice skirts for $20. I picked up an ankle-length brown one (after considering the black) in a size x. I wandered around a little more, got a sweater to match the skirt, looked at the baby clothes, and went to try on the skirt. It was too big. Hm, I thought. That's pretty cool. So I asked the nice and friendly Old Navy employee walking by if they had the skirt in a size x-1. She went and looked and said they didn't, neither in brown nor black. I sighed and went back out, deciding to look at the shorter, knee length skirts. I picked out a short skirt in the x-1 size. (I also found several x-1 size skirts in the longer style that apparently the employee missed.) So I take the x-1 skirt back to the dressing room and try it on. The size x-1 skirt is too big. The size x-1 skirt is too big. The size x-1 skirt is too frickin' big!!!!!!! I do a happy happy "the size x-1 skirt is too big" dance in the middle of the dressing room, run out to the display rack (after changing back to my normal clothes) and grab a size x-2 skirt. Which fits perfectly. Which I immediately buy and spend the rest of the day happy. (Of course, I went to Sears later and tried on a pair of size x-1 jeans, which were too small. But that's okay. I think.)
