So Mr. Medea and I got a DVD player on Thursday. So far we've only bought one movie (This is Spinal Tap), but plan to buy several more (Run Lola Run being on the top of my list). We have hundreds of movies on laser disc, but since it's impossible to rent them anywhere lately, and there are two places that rent DVDs within walking distance, we succumbed to pressure. Plus, they're not that expensive (the players).
When we first looked at the house in which we are now living, one thing we knew we'd have to take care of was the fact that someone (not naming names, but we think it was the people who sold us the house) replaced one of the original windows (one of the kind that hinges on the side and swings inward) in the bedroom with a piece of drywall and a window air-conditioning unit. (Yuk.) We figured we'd have to get a window made and put that project off until next year. Then Mr. Medea found the original window (with all its hardware attached) in the attic. Hooray! He repainted it and put it back in this morning. It looks so nice. Yay happy house.
The splint came off my hand on Wednesday; I have a little scar about 3/4" long that the doctor thinks will go away. There are a few bruises too. But it's looking good and I'm glad that little chapter of my life is done.
