2001-02-16 - 6:33pm So I finished up a six-hour defensive driving class yesterday. Two hours of it went something like this: Drinking and driving is bad. I realize this is an important topic, but since my days of heavy drinking ended with college (and the fact that I haven't had any sort of drink since, oh, August or so), it was kind of pointless for me to sit and be told that drinking and driving is bad it's really bad and I shouldn't do it. (At one point the instructor started talking about how boating and driving is bad, it's really bad, don't do it and I nearly passed out in frustration.) At any rate, I took the class mostly to get the speeding ticket points off my license. Unfortunately, braintrust Medea thought they were on for three years. They're only on for 18 months. And, of course, what day did the points go on my license? You guessed it - August 16, 1999. (but I do get the insurance premium reduction, at least.)
