So we got that birdfeeder for Lucy we'd been (or, rather, I'd been) wanting to get her for a while. We hung it up on a tree branch right outside the kitchen window where she likes to sit. And waited for the birds to show up.
And waited.
And waited.
The squirrels loved it. They'd hang by their feet above it, knock the roof off and scoop up the seeds for themselves. But no birds.
Then, there was yesterday.
This birdfeeder has six little openings for birds. At one point yesterday afternoon, all six spots were taken and there were at least eight birds fighting for a spot.
They drained the entire feeder (and it's a big feeder) in a day! And it doesn't look like it's going to stop any time soon. They're already half-way through the feeder and it's only 1:20 or so.
Lucy, meanwhile, is completely oblivious to them.
My watch broke. Yes, this is the second watch I've broken since what, June? The spring in one of the links of the flexy-band started sticking out, and I ended up just yanking the entire thing out. So, I'm going to mail it to Erin so she can take it back to the store where I bought it, to see if it's still under warranty. Hopefully it will be.
