So my surgery has been scheduled - Friday, September 15, at 7:30am (boo, hiss). My boss was wetting her pants with excitement, practically, because it means I'll only be out one day. Ah well. Perhaps I won't be able to do as much work with one hand in a splint. :)
The anesthetic will be local, so, in theory, I could watch. I won't, though. I don't have a problem watching the blood leave my arm when I donate, but even when Mr. Medea is quickly flipping through channels, I have to turn my head when The Surgery Channel pops up.
Which brings up another question - I'm eligible to donate blood again a week before the surgery. Will I be able to this time around? Do I need to have a certain amount of blood in my body before I go in? After I have the surgery, don't I have to wait a certain amount of time before I can donate again? I'll have to see what I can find out.
It's humid and yucky hot here. Bleh.
